Uppsala

The city retains the charm of a small town, population of around 190,000, while offering urban opportunities and attractions. Here are two universities, Uppsala University and the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, and Uppsala is considered to be the religious and historic centre of Sweden. The city has a solid base of knowledge and tradition from which to progress.

Uppsala boasts the largest cathedral in Scandinavia, one of Sweden’s most famous locations of prehistoric artifacts (Gamla Uppsala), the unique anatomical theatre built in 1600’s, Uppsala Castle dating back from the mid-1500’s and many more sites and attractions. Here is also found Sweden’s oldest botanical garden, the Garden of Linnaeus, founded by the great natural scientist himself.

But Uppsala does not only rest on its traditions. Today’s Uppsala is a dynamic industrial and commercial city where knowledge, ideas and entrepreneurship are at the centre. The city’s geographical location with only 30 minutes to Stockholm-Arlanda international airport and 40 minutes to Stockholm, the capital, has made Uppsala an attractive place for meetings and to establish new companies.
