Contributed talks have a 20 minute slot (15 minute talk plus 5 minute questions).
All lecture theatres are equipped with Powerpoint for Windows XP 2000 (all
recent PC versions of Powerpoint should be OK) PLEASE USE POWERPOINT IF YOU
CAN.
All theatres also have 35mm slide projectors and overhead transparency projectors,
but we'd prefer you not to use them.
Powerpoint users, please either:
bring your presentation with you as a Powerpoint file on a CD-R disk (NOT a
CD-RW disc). NO OTHER FORMATS WILL BE READABLE - (no zip discs, floppies, mind
patches etc.)
You will be asked to hand over your CD-R disk at registration, it will be put
onto a server.
Alternatively: you can deliver your presentation by FTP to our server (using
a program such as WS-FTP)
The host is bgypc2131.leeds.ac.uk
the user id is esebix
the password is dan@zip100
remote host is d: (in Windows XP this is called the Account)
local host is your own drive (if you're asked for this)
if you do FTP us a file, please send an e-mail to this address to let us know.
You might want to leave a copy of your presentation on a home server where you can get it in the event of some unforeseen catastrophe with your stuff. This would be an emergency fall back, the system here would not cope with a lot of people wanting access to their home servers. It would be better to bring a spare CD-R disc copy with you.
Board sizes are 2m high x 1m wide and are velcro fronted. Posters should be
designed to fit into this space (portrait format).
