The ninth Congress of the European Society for Evolutionary Biology will be held in Leeds, UK from 18-24 August 2003 and it already looks like being a cracker. The structure of the congress will be similar to previous meetings, each day starting with a plenary keynote speaker, followed by parallel symposia. There may also be a few contributed paper sessions. The congress will cover the field of evolutionary biology in a wide sense but with emphasis on processes and mechanisms of evolutionary phenomena.
Plenary speakers
We have confirmed plenary talks from Lord Bob May, Paul Brakefield, Daniel Hartl, Allen Orr and Robert Wayne.
Symposia
30 symposia proposals have now been accepted covering a wide range of current evolutionary issues. There are 15 full day symposia with 3 invited speakers and 10/11 20 minute slots for submitted talks, and 15 half day symposia with 2 invited speakers and 4/5 20 minute slots for submitted talks.
Further details will be available from this site as they become available
